The year ahead

I’m a little late to the party after a family bereavement at New Year, but now is the time to look forward to 2024 and the future, instead of looking back.

After an abysmal year last year in achieving anything, I’m determined that the coming year will be very different. As I had hoped for last year, it all starts with Mathematics and a lot of reading. I hope refreshing my skills on that front can feed into data analysis, perhaps something I could make a job out of, and ultimately back into Physics.

I’d certainly like to do some travelling. I’ve not quite decided where as yet, but I think I’ll probably start quite local here in the UK, before heading overseas. I suppose one factor will be war and whether the situation in Ukraine and Middle East spreads across Europe or Africa. Though who can really predict the future.

I also want, or perhaps that should read ‘need’ to work on my health. I’ve been giving serious thought about returning to a gym membership. I was never a muscle-bound hulk in the past and won’t be in the future, but I found I lost a lot weight by walking 30 minutes on the treadmill and then doing 30 minutes on the exercise bike. It wasn’t too much of a bind to two to three times a week. It was a relatively easy habit to get into and by limiting my time to only one hour, I still had time to do other things back then.

So, that’s the plan. Or at least that’s the plan for now. Things happen. Things can change at the drop of a hat, but if I’m going to make the most of the future I have to start out with some sort of a plan I can adapt easily and quickly.
