When you mention the word ‘alien’ in the UK, people tend to think of extraterrestrials. However, another ‘alien’ may be lurking amongst us, an ‘alien big cat’. We’re joined by Andy, a local expert on the Durham Puma.

Some people feel the prospect of a breeding population of large cats in the wild is not sustainable, whilst others take the contrary view. The number of sightings, whilst relatively low, remain at a significant level and experienced outdoors folk know how easy it is to traverse tracts of land without attracting attention. Add to that the aftermath of attacks on farming livestock the prospect of Pumas roaming the countryside becomes a distinct possibility.
