Did the Grey Wolf get away?

Could it really be true? Could Mr Wolf (a well used pseudonym of Hitler) have really become Grey Wolf after World War 2?

I’m staggered by that so I’ll say it again. Could the most evil man in history have escaped from Berlin at the end of World War 2 and lived out his days in South America?

That is the premise of this book by Simon Dunstan and Gerrard Williams. In effect we have all be sold a lie for so many decades.

When I first came across this title, I didn’t believe it. It couldn’t be true. After all our historians and school teachers and wouldn’t lie to us would they?

Well perhaps ‘lie’ is a strong word, but would they repeat what they in turn had been told without digging deeply into the subject? Perhaps.

I found the book to be a compelling read. How could all those people have ‘lied’ to us? Grey Wolf leads the reader on a journey that generates as many questions as answers despite being packed with first hand testimony of interviewees who testify they had served Hitler and Eva Braun in hotels after the war, as well as the pilot who claims to have flown them out of Berlin. A plethora of documents follow.

It seems that neither Stalin nor the FBI believed that Hitler died in the bunker and that the skull that was said to have been taken from a burnt corpse in the garden of the bunker was proved to be that of a woman under 40 years of age instead of Hitler.

Having done some digging on cremations it seems it simply is not possible for a body to be reduced to ash by rolling them in carpet and dowsing them in petrol before setting them alight in the open air. (For reference it appears that a human body takes 1 to 3 hours to be cremated in a specialist cremation unit.)

I haven’t been able to invest the time and money the authors did whilst writing this book, so I can’t say whether the claims are accurate or not. I can say that I have seen this book mentioned on TV and subjected to debate.

Grey Wolf is a book well worth reading. You will have to draw your own conclusions on the subject, but I can’t help thinking that the authors may have uncovered more truth than some governments would be comfortable about.
